What deepfake basically is is a AI model that learn to imitate a person face structure and movement by consuming and learning from thousand to million of photos that has that person face being fed into the model. The more photos it consume, the better the imitation is. Deep fake has been a major problem since it become a publicly available tool that everyone can use. One way that deepfake was being use is a way to create Pornographic materials using faces of celebrities you want. A scandal of this issue happened 2 years ago when the streamer Atrioc was seen having deepfake pornographic materials on stream. when he was streaming on twitch, one of the tab on his bowser was that of  a known website that sold deepfake pornography. After some future digging some people within the community discover that not only was he using this service but he was also using this service to create deep fake pornographic materials of popular female streamer like Pokimane. This caused not only a big scandal for himself but also for Twitch as person like this was allow to stream on there. This caused Twitch to revise their rules about using AI material to become stricter on the website. Another way is people using deep fake as a way to scam people. This scam appeared recently in France where a 53 years old woman was scammed out of $850K by a scammer using deepfake to disguise themselves as Brat Pitt. The scammer befriended, eventually become her "boyfriend " and  kept on asking her to send them money. From the sample picture on the left we can see that these deepfake of the scammer has flaw in them that people that are tech savvy can definitely recognize, but what about the older generation that is not tech savvy like the woman above?

Gen AI is very similar to deepfake where it is an AI model that is trying to imitate something by consuming and learning from thousand to million of medias of that thing. In the case of art, art pieces from anywhere on the internet; and in the case of videos, video recordings from anywhere on the internet. But this causes the problem of stealing as not every artists or video makers want their works to be stolen and fed to an AI that make bad imitation of their works. This can maker a person with no knowledge looking at these pieces and assume that the artist make it which causes damage to their reputations. Gen AI is also a way some companies is trying to cut cost is using. For example instead of hiring professional to draw a commercial banner, companies just put keywords into an art gen AI and it will create one for them. Another can be that of game commercial creating fake gameplay by inputting key words into a video gen AI like Steve AI to create it instead of recording actual game play themselves. In these cases even though it is very easy for people that has been artist or youtuber for a while, or people familiar with AI to see flaws within the the imitation like AI art pieces of human where the hand is drawn like a mush or AI video where a dog with long hair suddenly morph into a human with long hair sitting down; people of the older generation or people that are not tech savvy may not be able to see these flaws. Also using gen AI is taking away the hard work of people actually putting their creativity into a pieces while other just type keywords into a text prompt.
